Health Screening

What is health screening?

Health screening consists of medical tests, examinations or other procedures such as blood tests, urine tests, X-rays and other scans that are done to determine if you have a medical disease or condition.

Who should go for health screening?

We believe that health screening is for everyone, including you.

Health screening helps you to find out if you are suffering from a particular disease or condition. Screening may help you to detect disease conditions which you are not aware of, even if you are looking and feeling well. Many conditions such as diabetes and high blood cholesterol often have no early signs or symptoms.

Prevention may be better than cure, but early detection allows for early treatment and good control of the condition. Early treatment and control minimizes the risk of serious complications later on in life if the condition is managed properly. It is therefore important to get yourself screened even if you feel perfectly healthy.

Health screening is highly recommended for the following persons who are at high risk:

  • Have a family history of chronic diseases or conditions, e.g. if you have an immediate family member with a particular medical condition
  • Are people 40 years or older.
